About Kalk Bay Harbour Wall

This dive site is just of Kalk Bay Harbour wall, and can be accessed by jumping off the wall. The wall is 2-4m high, depending on the tide. There is a steel ladder in the wall which can be used as an exit point, although this can be tricky with a full set of gear and it is best to make use of the help of a dive buddy to remove your gear. There is not much to see and the sea bed is littered with old tyres and bits of fishing net. If you swim approximately 100m out to sea you are likely to encounter a friendly and playful family of seals. This site can only be dived in very calm conditions during winter. Always carry a diving knife as there is a lot of discarded fishing line in the water near the wall and it is easy to become entangled.
