About Okta Wreck

This was a English Iron Hulled Barque sailing under the command of Captain Duus. She sunk on September 18, 1913, after heavy South gale winds the previous day, this ship also sprung a leak in her forepeak. Being crippled, she was directed to her nearest port. At this time the winds were calm. The next day sudden winds came back up and sent her steering into a series of surfacing rocks just 300 yards from her destination. She now rests in a depth of 21 meters with some of her remains scattered around her. A beautiful display of corals and marine life can be seen.
