About Xlendi Reef

Xlendi Reef is a dive site situated in the heart of Xlendi Bay in southwest Gozo. The inner reef, with a maximum depth of 12 metres, wraps around the headland, while the outer reef extends underwater from the same point. The outer reef features a pinnacle that nearly reaches the surface, with a maximum depth of around 25 metres. The base of the reef is adorned with large boulders and Posidonia seagrass, providing a habitat for a diverse range of marine life. The seabed further from the shore descends rapidly, reaching depths well beyond 60 metres.

This dive site is suitable for all levels of divers, from beginners to advanced. The shallow reef is an ideal location for diving courses due to the bay's sheltered nature and lack of currents. The deeper part of the reef is often used for technical dive training. However, divers should be aware of boat traffic in and out of the bay. Xlendi Reef can be combined with a dive at the nearby Xlendi Tunnel cave for a more comprehensive diving experience.
