About USS Bass Wreck

This was a Barracuda Class Submarine and the very first Navy Submarine to be named for the bass. She served in WW11. On 17 August 1942 a fire broke out in her battery room and soon spread to her torpedo room and motor room. She survided this incident. In March 1945 she was decommisioned by from the Naval Submarine Base New London and used a target practice. She rests in deep water, making this a dive for advanced level divers only.
