The Niagara was launched in 1846 and was believed to be the largest, fastest, and most luxurious steamboat the world had ever seen. That was until September 24, 1856, when a fire broke out onboard and caused engine failure. She sank in a matter of hours. Today her remains are scattered over a wide sandy bottom. Still makes a great dive.
