When the Naeco sank the stern and bow sections landed a couple of miles away from each other. After many years of searching for the apparently missing pilot house area, a diver discovered the section and so there are currently three separate sections one can dive. The stern (which lies on its keel) provides the most relief and is the highest section and, consequently, has the most visitors. Although the visibility is usually good because the water is clear, it can get confusing when the large schools of redeyes and baitfish which inhabit the area surround one. Relief is provided by the boilers, the engine, the steering quadrant, and the deck wall. Forward of the deck wall, the stern levels out and disappears into the sand. The bow lies, almost collapsed, on its starboard side. One can still see the port anchor on this, the smaller section of the ship. The pilot house section has not yet been dived.
