About Lightship Relief

Although the masts of this lightship have been knocked down, the wreck is otherwise intact and upright. The visibility at this site can be terrible so it's lucky that one can tour her almost identical twin, the Ambrose, at the South Street Seaport before you dive her. The wreck is overgrown with mussels, other marine life, and the occasional lobster so there is lots to see. The bottom is mud and silt.
