About HMS Culloden Wreck

This is by far one of the oldest and most historucal beach wreck dives any diver will ever explore off the Long Island Coast. The Culloden was a 74 Gun English Frigate, commisioned in may 1776. The Culloden along with 2 other Frigates were waiting in Block Island for French Vessels planning to ram the Blockade. Instead of getting French Frigates, they got severe gale storms. The three frigates tried to sail into open waters to get out of the storm, and before they could take any action, the coastline opened up infront of them. This is how the Culloden ran aground. Here you will find many interesting artifacts such as cannons and cannon balls.
