About Fort Victoria

The huge ship known as the Fort Victoria lay on its side in the middle of the shipping lane for more than a year. It was eventually demolished (using 25 tons of dynamite) and then dragged to a distance of 42 feet from the shore and a depth of 50 feet from the surface. There is very little left of the Fort Victoria, and what is left is almost entirely hidden by the sandy, muddy bottom.
