About Copenhagan

The 102m single screw steamer Copenhagen was built in 1899 two years before she ran aground on the rock ledge out from Pompano. She was carrying a cargo of coal to Havana at the time of the mishap. In june 1994 the wreck site was listed as a protected underwater preserve by the state. This is one of Florida's favorite historical shipwreck dives. Although the wessel's hull has collapsed, there is still plenty to see.
