The Catherine M Monohan sunk while carrying a cargo of bags of cement. The hardened pile of cement bags, which rises about 10 to 15 feet above the sand, provides the only relief on this wreck. There is some metal machinery (including an anchor windlass, an anchor chain and an anchor) still present at the bow end. The cement 'reef' is contiguous not too large so the wreck is reasonably easy to navigate. The cracks and crevices provided by the cement bags house some small tropical fish, shrimp and moray eels. This site is ideal for photographing small fish.
