This dive site features the Ashkhabad, a 400-foot ship that sunk in the area. It is generally quite broken and littered about due to it being knocked about by Allies because of its hazard to navigation. It mostly consists of flattened hull plates. The bow covers the most space of the wreck and is separated by the boiler by a large sandy patch. The propeller, shaft alley and stern rudder are now missing. One should not attempt this wreck when visibility is poor but if visibility is good it can be a rather rewarding dive. The majority of the Ashkhabad is buried under sand.
