About Airport Beach

So named because it is the original site of the Kaanapali Airport which is now relocated a few miles away. The park is privately maintained and has showers, restrooms and shaded picnic tables. This is a good area for snorkeling and entry level SCUBA. Expect a long swim to get to 40'+ depth. Beach entries are easy and water is usually calm. Bottom drops off gradually so most of the area is within snorkel depth. There is often a light current along the shoreline which shouldn't be a problem if you pay attention to navigation. There is abundant marine life and a healthy hard coral reef.
