About HMS Campania

Originally launched in 1892 this vessel became a Fleet Air Arm carrier in the year 1915 and was the first vessel to have a flight take off from a vessel with a permanent flight deck. After it's sinking the wreck has undergone numerous salvage operations but the wreck remains in diving condition and extends to a length of 200 meters with a width of 20 meters. The wreck was only recently opened to diving. The dive site is in an area of generally low visibility.
