The Hastings County was a large Steamship vessel that ran aground on Auskerry Island in 1926. Over the years, passing storms has broken her up and scattered her remains over a wide area on the ocean floor, providing good shelter for a large array of marine fish. The remians also has good coral growth. Many interesting artifacts can still be found here.
