About USS Lagarto Submarine Wreck

The USS Lagarto was a US registered S2-317 Balao class type submarine. She sank in March 1945 after another vessel open heavy fire on her. Today she is mostly intact and sits upright in a silty seabed. The bodies of her crew are still inside the wreck. This wreck has been classified as an allied war grave and special permission from the US Government is needed before diving here. Due to this, the co-ordinates for this dive remains a secret and can be obtained from the Government if you are approved to dive here.
