About Koh Larn Vak

Koh Larn, meaning "Coral Island", a mostly mountainous tropical island and the largest of the near islands at 2km wide by 4km long, is located about 7km off the coast of Pattaya. It has six beaches and a population of around 1000, mostly centred around the main village of Naban. Koh Larn Vak's distinguishing feature is its underwater restaurant, albeit not intended. Questionable engineering resulted in part of the restaurant sinking before completion. Other notable features of this site are the vertical concrete tubes teeming with coral and number of small caves. Good for practising buoyancy skills. Stationary seahorses can be found at 9m. A safety balloon is recommended when ascending due to a nearby jet-ski station.
