About Polder Bommenede

Bommenede was a former Island Village which is now a underwater Village, and a major attraction to any diver visiting Netherlands. This island was one of the four islands that formed Schouwen-Duiveland. The Village got its first residents in 1153. Bommenede has survived several floods and fires throughout its existing years, until the Spanish Village commander blew this village to pieces. After the last residents left in 1684, the water of the Grevelingen estuary claimed the rest of the village. Its a very interesting dive with loads of artifacts to see and explore.
