The Nippo Maru lies in water max depth 50 metres (165 feet), 40 metres (130 feet) to deck, 30 metres (100 feet) to top of wreck, near Tonoas, Chuuk Lagoon. It's a 3,764 ton cargo vessel, 106 metres (353 feet) in length and surrounded with 30 metres (100 feet) viz. One can drop into the bow and see the truck frame after which is the wheelhouse with rear howitzer guns on starboard. There wonderful coral on the masts and holds 4 and 5 have tons of sake bottles and gun mounts. It sank upright during Operation Hailstone after serving as a Naval Auxiliary Water Carrier.
