The Salvatierra sank in the canal de San Lorenzo in 1976, roughly a mile south of Isla Espíritu Santo. It has since become one of the most popular dive sites in the La Paz region. The ship was an amalgamation of a ferry, carrying shipyard laborers, and an LST (Landing Ship Tank). The Ssalvatierra was 320 feet long and 50 feet in beam. A general housing area was built on the flat deck for passengers with roughly 400 chairs mounted This is a great diving site to explore a more unusual wreck, with an interesting history.
