About Colombia

Columbia reefs shapes a natural breakwater and offers protection for the incredibly flat coastal region. It boasts incredibly large coral buttresses, covered with many different sponges and even some amazing coral heads. Even though this dive site is hardly used, it is well worth the effort of the rather far boat ride. It is favored after diving the deeper Maracaibo Reef or the Columbia Pinnacles. This reef is also full of different fish, and almost every form of tropical fish can be found around the island. Although this site allows for a highly enjoyable snorkeling dive, due to it's incredible profusion of corals, it is advised to have a guide with you because of the sometimes confusing arrangements of coral.
