About Xghajra Reef

Xghajra Reef is a captivating dive site located on the east side of Xghajra village in south-eastern Malta, approximately halfway between Valletta and Marsaskala. The reef is situated around 100 meters offshore in front of Triq il-Wesgha Tower. The dive site is characterized by a fascinating labyrinth of small tunnels and caves with low arches, starting from a large sinkhole. The main tunnel is about 15-20 meters in length, with several shorter side tunnels, each 3-5 meters long, leading back to the reef at around 5 meters depth. The maximum depth of the dive is 18 meters.

This dive site is recommended for beginners due to its manageable depth and the intriguing tunnel system to explore. The type of the dive site is a combination of a cave and a reef, offering a unique diving experience. The marine life at Xghajra Reef is yet to be explored.
