About L-Cave

L-Cave is a challenging dive site located off Qawra Point on Malta's north coast. The site is named after its L-shaped swim-through tunnel, which is situated at a depth of 30 to 35 metres. The entrance to the cave is narrow and can be obscured by sand, which can significantly reduce visibility. The first 10 metres of the cave are dark and tight, but it then widens and turns to the left, revealing the light of the exit at a depth of 36 metres. This dive site is best suited for experienced divers due to its depth and the potential for reduced visibility.

L-Cave can be accessed either by boat or from the shore. If diving from the shore, it takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to reach the cave from Qawra Point pool. Divers should follow a compass bearing of 30° until they reach the Qawra Reef drop-off, then continue along the wall in an easterly direction until they reach a valley. The entrance to L-Cave is located at the bottom of the wall across the valley, partially hidden behind a rock. Divers should be aware of boat traffic and carry a DSMB when diving from the shore. The dive site features a cave, reef, and wall, and reaches a maximum depth of 40 metres.
