About HMS Jersey

HMS Jersey (F72) is a World War II wreck located in Valletta, Malta. This British J-class destroyer, measuring approximately 109 m in length and 11 m in beam, met its end in May 1941 when it struck a mine at the entrance to Grand Harbour while returning from a mission. The wreckage, which initially blocked the harbour entrance for several days, now lies scattered between the breakwater arms following clearance work. The maximum depth of the site is 19 m, making it suitable for advanced divers.

Nearby, divers can also explore another World War II wreck, the HMS Andromeda, a tugboat/minesweeper located at the harbour entrance. However, it's worth noting that aside from the historical wreckage, there are no other points of interest at this dive site. The site is primarily a wreck dive, offering a glimpse into the naval history of the region during the Second World War.
