About Japanese Cargo Wreck

This wreck is that of a Japanese cargo vessel which sank here in 1942, the year of Gorontalo's independence. She sunk when she cause fire while transporting wood along with various other things. An attempt was made to turn around and return the ship to port where the intention was to run the vessel aground on an area of sand, except while this attempt was being made the vessel hit a coral wall. Thankfully no lives were lost in the incident. The wreck itself now lies at a depth of 45 meters while the propeller is located at a moderate depth of 26 meters. The wreck is tipped slightly seaward. The bottom of the stern is home to plenty of beautiful gorgonians.
