About GPS Point

This great spot is situated to the north of Banta. The underwater seabank features barracuda, Spanish mackerel, dogtooth tuna, and sharks (because of the strong currents). A maximum of five species of shark have been seen in a single dive at GPS Point. The hard coral at this site was unfortunately damaged by dynamite fishing in 1997 and 1998. The occurrence of shark sightings has also dropped due to overfishing by sharkfinners.
