About Arus Balee (Widow's current)

Arus Balee is the name for the water passage around a rocky pinnacle which lies between the islands of Seulako and Rubiah. It was nicknamed by the Acehnese Arus Palee, which means bastard current. This narrow passage often gets lots of current as well as current loving sea creatures, including sharks, which in turn makes it a very popular dive site. Arus Balee is a good site for a kaleidoscopic moving palette of colours displayed by underwater 'rivers' of hundreds and hundreds of neon bright fusiliers.
