About Shangrila Scuba Divers

Shangrila Scuba Divers (PADI Dive Resort #S -21157), a humble dive operation, started in 2005 by Graeme Birch. Graeme is originally from UK and lived in Australia for ten years before uprooting himself again to live in Bali in 2003. Graeme received his PADI Open Water Certificate in 1993 in Florida, USA and had always enjoyed diving. His passion for diving grew since moving to this beautiful island where the underwater world simply offer such variety and range. His passion eventually spurred him to pursue diving as a profession. He now lives his dream of what he wants to do, is now his own boss and runs his operation with a small team of local staff in this beautiful paradise!

Warm 26-29 °C waters, 15-30 m visibility and a laid-back Creole-Garífuna culture turn every surface interval into a tropical holiday. Whether you’re certifying in shallow seagrass meadows or racking up tech-level depth on coral-encrusted ledges, Belize blends world-class marine biodiversity with sustainable operators, eco-minded lodges and easy travel connections—making it the perfect base for both first-time bubbles and bucket-list underwater adventures.
