About Suzy's Wreck

Suzy's Wreck aka the SS Rita is 130 metal cargo ship built in the UK in the 1930's. The site rests in a calm and shallow sandy bay just off Grande Island. The SS Rite reportedly arrived carrying a cargo full of railroad tracks and proceeded to sink in a storm in which only one crew member lost their life. Much of the wreck has been salvaged leaving only a superstructure on which molluscs and other small marine life such as Blennies, Nudibran, baby Lobsters, Clams and Tiger Cowries make their home.
