About Kronprins Gustav Adolf

This wreck was a a Swedish Mon O War Liner. She served in the Great War between Russia and Sweden in 1788. On 6 August 1788, steering in heavy fog, she was suprised by the Russian Fleet. The Russian imprisoned all the crew and set the ship on fire. The ship eventually foundered towards Harmaja where it exploded and sank. Today she is still very much intact and a favorite wreck dive for many. Very interesting bottom topography, and a large variety of marine life to be seen.
