About Splash Dive Center

Splash Dive Center is more than just a regular Belize dive shop, and scuba diving and snorkelling operator. In addition to providing guests with the very highest standards of service, they aim to make dive trips educational, informative and fun. That is why all their Divemasters and Instructors are registered guides with the Belize Tourism Board.Splash Dive Center was founded by Patty Ramirez in 2000 and is also a very important community stakeholder in the village of Placencia and actively involved in both community and environmental projects for protection and sustainable growth.Patty founded the Splash Kids Club, which helps kids from the local community, who cannot afford scuba lessons, to get certified as PADI Junior Open Water divers. Not only does this help the kids enjoy the rewards of scuba diving, but it gets them started on a potential career as a local guide or PADI Instructor, and more importantly educates them about the importance of long term environmental conservation.Their team and staff are also actively involved in local conservation projects, such as the Placencia Mooring Masters and organizing the annual cleanup of Laughing Bird Caye, a national park and World Heritage Site.

Belize is a diver’s playground where the Caribbean’s only three true atolls cradle kaleidoscopic coral gardens, steep drop-offs and the iconic Great Blue Hole. Glide over nurse-shark nurseries at Hol Chan, descend along Lighthouse Reef’s vertiginous walls, or time your visit to Placencia for exhilarating whale-shark encounters at Gladden Spit. Warm 26-29 °C waters, 15-30 m visibility and a laid-back Creole-Garífuna culture turn every surface interval into a tropical holiday. Whether you’re certifying in shallow seagrass meadows or racking up tech-level depth on coral-encrusted ledges, Belize blends world-class marine biodiversity with sustainable operators, eco-minded lodges and easy travel connections—making it the perfect base for both first-time bubbles and bucket-list underwater adventures.
