About The Pinnacles (Forster)

Compared to the lack of promised sharks to spot at Seal Rocks this site is great. They hang out at the bottom of the permanent mooring in groups of up to 20. The spot has a boulder that they like swimming around at 26m which can take you as far down as 38m. It's great to watch them from the boulder or to circumnavigate it. This is one of those dives that keeps your adrenalin flowing quite a bit for the rest of the day. To top it all the viz can dip all the way down to 35m!The sharks tend to congregate on the western side. This dive is unfortunately only for advanced candidates due to the currents and the depth and best dived in autumn or winter so you can spot the inhabitant's in their seasonal migration. The Pinnacle is tipped as one of the best dive sites at Forster. It lies just off Cape Hawke. The reef here drops down to 50m with a sheer climb up to 24m. The GPS clocks at 32° 13' 48"S 152° 36' 02"E. The sharks usually hang out around the bottom. The eastern area slopes down onto some rocks and tunnels where the marine life is exceptionally dense.
