The South Channel Fort was built in the 1860's in defense against Russia. There used to be guns fortified into the wall and it was a no go zone until 1960. Take a torch the bottom is a labyrinth of tunnels. The topography is mainly granite boulders with plenty of places to explore. There's a jetty on the west ad a 12m drop off keep your eyes out here and the western shoreline for all sorts of interesting critters. If you circumnavigate the fort on the eastern side are collapsed pylons from WWII. Its shallow so there's plenty of bottom time and oh, take your camera'�
