The SS Mauna Loa was a Steam Powered Cargo Vessel. She was also well known as SS Canob and SS Golden Eagle. During WW11, the Maunu Loa was chartered by the Americans to use as a Supply Vessel, sailing to the Phillipines. She sank on 19 February 1942 after heavy air attack from Japanese Bombers. Its a beautiful wreck dive with interesting bottom topography and many interesting artifacts to be found here. Abundant marine life and good coral growth. The SS Mauna Loa sits right next to the USAT Meigs Vessel.
