An altitude dive, Lake Eckham lies at 720m above sea level and was formed 12 000 years ago during volcanic eruptions and makes for a great fresh water dive. There's isn't much marine life but the dive itself and the thermoclines makes you feel like you are on another planet. Like with most lakes silt disturbance affects the viz. It can get very deep in places so don't get carried away with the strangeness of it all and loose your perspective.
